Every now and again, the game has an error while starting up. It says "game.exe has stopped working". I'm running Vista (which i'm guessing is causing the problem). Anybody know of any fix for this?

I've fixed the problem. Why are so many people scared of Vista. Saying "uninstall vista and go back to XP" just seems like the ludicrous ramblings of a technophobe. There are obviously a few bugs because it's new, but nothing that I haven't been able to remedy. I find it so funny to hear comments from these (apparently technical) guys that are clearly panicking about the daunting thought of having to adapt to a new OS. Desperately clutching on to the dwindling last year or so before the obsolete-status of XP. I always loved XP and after so many years became extremely efficient with it. However, I embraced the transition to become a newbie once again on a more advanced and up-to-date system. In over a year there will be no more commercial support for XP. Mr-technophobe-sexy,,, I think you should â€œuninstall XP and more FORWARD to Vistaâ€.

hmmm. Seems like schnauzerhead is a little cut off from reality. It's quite amusing that you take so much pride in expressing your recommendations for Linux, like you are the only one with this exclusive knowledge, surrounded by soley-microsoft users (kinda reminds me of the Little Britain character : "the only linux-user in the village"). I've used Linux for years and yes it is a great OS, but as a web-browsing/home OS; microsoft is as good as any. And as far as resource-process allocation goes; vista was designed to run with 64bit+ processors with the eye on dual-core.

But thanks for the amusing comment.

People need to just suck it up and learn something new. Honestly, I do run XP and Vista. I like XP still but you have to realize is that it is out of date. Just like the computer I, and you are on. WOW!! Technology is always changing. Adapt!! That is your only hope. Get off the XP horse you mounted yourself on and learn. I enjoy learning something new. It may be a challenge but worth it in the end.

I know how to install and burn games using ISOs and various other formats, but how exactly do you work with that many files? Like, can you load each one onto Daemon tools? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You just extract unl-re4.r00 and the rest automatically extract. Then mount the image.

I downloaded the game, and installed it ,but after i use the YASU ,i try to run it ,but it doesnt work ,an error appeares that say ,conflict with emulation software detected, iam using daemon tools 4.08 to mount the image also using XP ,anyone can help ?

it seems that the YASU vers included gets detected after the patch is installed.
try this newer version (http://yasu.copybase.ch/), only check "SecuROM 7.x Cloaking" and press Cloak, after that resi should start.

but is it possible that the patch doesnt change the grafics? i installed it but the game still looks crappy (check the laser pointer)
or did i do something wrong?

@Naisher: Yes, it works fine.
Download all files, then open unl-re4.r00 with winrar. let it extract it to a separate folder, all other .rar-files will automatically be extracted to this location. after that, mount re4_pal.mds with daemon tools, install the game.
for securom, deactivate all emulation software now except the YASU version from http://yasu.copybase.ch/, cloak securom with YASU, start and enjoy the game

@all who have probs with securom: the only tool which works after the patch is the newest YASU version, download it from http://yasu.copybase.ch/ and cloak securom with it.
other tools MUST HAVE TO BE DEACTIVATED, otherwise secu detects them and the game wont start.
daemon tools are only needed to mount and install.

All those tips didn't work. I tried deamon tools 4.09 that wouldn't install. I tried the YASU crap. Doesn't seem to work. I just installed the game without all those complicated procedures.

I used Deamontools 4.00, but I geuss it's not necessary. All mounting software will do as long as it supports the MDS format.

After I installed it:
I downloaded a crack to replace the original game.exe
but when I tried starting the game it gave me a msg saying that d3dx9_30_x86.dll is missing.

So I installed DirectX manually "D:\directx_aug2006_redist\DXSETUP.exe"

And the game started with no problems. It's a lot easier than investing countless hours in figuring out how to get the securom cloaking to work

CONCLUSION:
It would be a lot easier if people would consider adding cracks in there torrents.

The same happened to me as to suspect86....

I pla **** for about an hour....And believe me I really got scared by the zombie-nation....
they come out from anywhere...

I tried to find some cheats from the cheatplanet but that was not what I was looking for...
I want the easy classic cheat-codes.

I downloaded something called asx-re4_eu110 as a rar file... and a re4trn8plusmouse called that has mouse aiming control...(the rest are infinite ammo,health etc.) but unfortunatelly it just crashed after the begining videos... Do you now what is wrong? its something like a backround running programm that enables cheats.*

Should it be better if I burn the game in a dvd instead of mounting it...(in any case not the cheating one...-cause I feel like making my pc a dump.

I'm running windows xp pro and i get an game.exe error...
does someone know how to fix this, i've tried other gam.exe's but all with same result - crash - i've already reinstalled the game, but still it isn't working.
any help would be great!

btw.
with the whole vista thing, i would just run XP until vista is upgraded,
so you dont have those typical "vista"problems, and the windows wich is (in 4 years) totally exploited and modded to make it super-fast!
but this is all my opinion...

try a version of deamontools thats not greater than 4.06
because there seems to be a problem with the newer versions

Suspect86 is right... It worked for me... The YASU software that comes with this Torrent file combined with DAEMON TOOLS v4.0.6 WORKS

This seems to be the only Daemon Tools version to work.. the newer ones just give errors and Problems...

I didn't use YASU, but I'm glad it works. It's always better to just down the crack. Because probably the included game.exe doesn't support patches like mouseaim and also because you have to run YASU first before you can run the game (I suppose). Sounds stupid to me

YASU is a weak program at best. No need to keep the image mounted, it requires twice the space. Once it's cracked it plays just like the real game, it just doesn't ask for the disk. This is known as No-DVD/Fixed EXE crack. Never have trouble finding Cracks at gamecopyworld.com this particular crack is at http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/?d=2007&f=htd-re4!rar just copy to the game directory and enjoy. But you should always keep the original game.exe file, b/c it is usually required for Patches and Updates.

I have no doubt that for its time on PS2 or Gamecube it was great, but the port to PC is a big letdown. Unless you are a resident evil fan from way back I wouldn't bother with this game. There are so many other games that have better game play, graphics, story, physics and so on, that this just isn't worth your time to get it running or bother playing.

Incidentally to run this I used the latest version of Daemon tools, and YASU then copied the game.exe across from \exe to the program files directory. Then downloaded the 1.1.0 EU patch. The whole thing worked fine.

HI all
I downloaded this torrent,extracted,instaled,used Yasu,of course cracked,but still when I run the game,first video with Leon finished but then wrote loading and appears window with"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"....It sucks..I have nVidia GeForce MX 440...maybe for this?

No is not DoomsdayDragon, Vista is a great OS, xp is good but vista is te sussesor of xp so you need to get vista if you want to be updated. In my personal opinion Vista is better than xp because is more new, have more features and if exists some problems is for the date released (NEW)
